Rose

The sound of the clock was going faster and faster, but the only thing that Rose could do was to cry and pray as she watched her husband an inch away to heaven. The line become straight which marks the death of his husband, Colonel Powell. A crowd of people wearing a black shirt was seen on the streets. The uneasiness is seen in every face that was on the funeral parade, especially Rose who couldn't avoid crying. The white roses came but Colonel was taken away with the white balloons. Months passed and Rose was standing strong. She wasn't shy that she was a widowed but instead, she proud that she could be a great Mom and not only that, but also a great Dad.

The time have come that Rose will face the most dreaded day of her life, Colonel's birthday. She doesn't want to remember the pain she felt when her husband died and occasions like this would mostly remind her of him. A knock on the door was heard and surprisingly it was Colonel's older sister, Eve. Rose quickly offered her a cup of tea and a biscuit but Eve said that she is not here to celebrate Colonel's birthday 'cause she knows how much it would hurt her. Eve continued and said that there is a new's about Colonel's long, lost, twin brother. Eve explained that Colonel's brother, John, suffered not to go back home even if he knows where his family lives because he lost his arms in a car accident. He was shy to go back for he thinks that he would be useless. Rose asked Eve why is she telling all of these things to her. Eve said that everyone needs help some times, even the most strongest person in the world. Eve added that she will always be there for her because she knows how much Colonel loves her. John wanted to meet Rose for she have known Colonel better than everyone and since Colonel is already dead, John wouldn't be able to know Colonel anymore. The only way is to ask someone who knows him best which is Rose. They set a date on sunday in a park.

As Rose walks to the park she caught a sight of john who didn't have any arms. Her heart was beating fast as if she has seen a dead person brought back to life. She suddenly stop as her body shakes, thinking if she should talk to John or not. Rose turned around but she stopped again. There was a lot of hesitations going on her mind but she went back and walked toward to John. He felt very happy that Rose came. The talked for a long time about Colonel. They see couple's holding each other's hand and this reminds Rose of how sweet they were when Colonel was still alive. John noticed that Rose was looking at a couple and he told Rose that she is till lucky for she didn't lost everything and she just lost a husband. He also mentioned that there are so many young men that will still court her because she is complete, she is not a handicapped person while him, it would be very rare for a woman to fall in love with him. Rose stayed quiet and tears fell down from her shiny, blue, eyes. She stood up and tried to walk away but the rain suddenly fall and John tried to push her by using his head. They sat on a bench where the rain couldn't reach them. Rose didn't have any choice but to stay there and wait for the rain to stop. They talked again but this time it was about their lives. They were trying to know each other and after  that day, John is always visiting Rose and she seemed to be happy. She forgot all of the pain that she have been through and it was replaced by new happy memories from John. Years passed and they become really close to each other. While they were talking about Rose kids, John suddenly ask her to marry him. Rose smiled and answered 'Yes' without any hesitations.

The wedding day came and they were like the happiest person in the world. Eve was also there in the ceremony and Rose gave thanks to her because without her she wouldn't meet Colonel and especially John. The three of them traveled  around the world and just enjoying the rest of their lives. They were all together even in the last breathe of their lives.
